A classic among coffee tables

The Pedrera Gubi ’s coffee table was created in the mid-1950s. Innovative in its design and choice of materials at the time, it is now considered a classic. The well-thought-out and refined design has lost none of its classic charm over the decades and lends a light, airy atmosphere to both modern and classic interiors. The design for the Pedrera coffee table was created by the Spanish architect and designer Barba Corsini. In 1953, he was commissioned by the real estate company managing Antonio Gaudí’s famous residential building, & #039;La Pedrera & #039; in Barcelona, to design apartments for the penthouse level of this building. In addition to the 13 individual apartments that Corsini subsequently designed for the Pedrera building, he also designed a corresponding series of lighting fixtures and furniture. This included the Pedrera side table and the Pedrera light fixtures, all of which are now manufactured by Gubi .

Glass top and metal frame

Thanks to the wide-ranging Pedrera project, Barba Corsini gained international recognition at the time, and the furniture became design classics. The Pedrera Side table is manufactured by Gubi with a metal base and features an organically shaped glass top.
