Architectural Candleholder

With a keen sense of contemporary, functionalist style, Mogens Lassen designed the iconic Kubus candleholder in 196 2. Mogens Lassen had been working on the Kubus candleholder until it took on the form we’ve known since 1962. Although the renowned architect and designer may have suffered from dyslexia, his sense of proportion and mathematics was impeccable: every single Kubus was constructed with great precision and a precise aspect ratio. Lassen left absolutely nothing to chance. Crafted by local artisans in Ordrup, the geometric Kubus candleholder was originally intended as a small series of one-of-a-kind pieces for Mogens Lassen’s family and close friends. However, his experimentation with forms and functions gave rise to a collection of products that have since achieved the status of modern design icons among architects and design connoisseurs.

Danish Craftsmanship

Even today, the “ Audo ” Kubus 4 candleholders are still crafted by experienced artisans in Holstebro, Denmark, and thus represent authentic Danish craftsmanship. Made of lacquered or copper-coated steel, Audo ’s candleholders are available in various styles.
