George Nelson, along with Alexander Girard and Charles and Ray Eames, is considered one of the most influential designers of the postwar era. Through the 1970s, he designed home accessories, furniture, and lighting that are now regarded as true classics.

Also part of his collection are the Wall Clocks, a series of wall clocks that became icons of the 1950s. Vitra is now reissuing the clocks and producing the designs exactly as the originals in terms of both materials and design. As with many clocks in the series, Nelson has also omitted numerals as a time display on the Popsicle Clock. Its delicate spokes made of walnut wood resemble popsicles and, due to their arrangement, are reminiscent of beautiful sunbeams.
