Decorative Bird Figurine by Charles and Ray Eames

Charles and Ray Eames enriched the interior of the Eames House with numerous objects they brought back from their travels. A wooden bird figurine has stood at the center of the living room for over fifty years. It is clearly a piece of American folk art particularly cherished by Charles and Ray, as it appears in many photographs of the designer couple. The bird originally comes from the Appalachian mountain region in the northeastern United States. Based on the original and in collaboration with the Eames family, Vitra produces the decorative figure in series.
