Classic Bowl from the 1950s

More than 50 years after materials scientist and civil engineer Herbert Krenchel designed the bowl Krenit Normann Copenhagen presents the minimalist original design in a wide range of colors. As a materials researcher, I paid close attention to ensuring that the various materials worked well together and looked good together—that they were compatible and could be used in combination.”

Award-Winning Steel Design

The bowl Krenit was introduced in 1953 following a lengthy search for the right manufacturing process. It quickly gained widespread popularity and stood as a prime example of high-quality Danish design. In 1954, the bowl won a gold medal at the Milan Triennale. Since then, it has been exhibited in several museums around the world and can be found in countless Danish and international designer homes. In the postwar years, there was increased interest in this beautiful, high-quality design. Production of the classic bowl Krenit was discontinued in 1966. Today, Normann Copenhagen manufactures the bowl in enameled steel and in various sizes and colors.
