Teapot with a floral pattern

In the 1960s, Armi Ratia, the head of the “ Marimekko ,” was absolutely opposed to including a floral pattern in the collection, as she was convinced that the beauty of a real flower could not be captured in printed form. In 1964, Finnish designer Maija Isola convinced her otherwise, and her poppy pattern has since become a true classic at Marimekko .

Aesthetics and Function Combined

Thus, the large-scale pattern also found its way onto the Oiva Unikko teapot. Here, aesthetics and function are by no means mutually exclusive; rather, they complement each other in a stylish way. With a capacity of 700 ml and an integrated tea strainer, tea can be served with flair.

The Unikko teapot is made of fine stoneware, while the handle and lid knob are crafted from sturdy wood. This exciting mix of materials is visually and tactilely appealing. A rubber gasket around the rim of the lid ensures a tight seal, preventing spills when pouring.
