Glare-Free Floor Lamp by Poul Henningsen
As part of Poul Henningsen’s lighting series for Louis Poulsen , the PH 3½-2½ floor lamp—just like the pendant lamps—impresses with an intelligently designed lampshade that ensures a pleasantly diffused light. The shade was designed based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, so that most of the light is directed downward and emitted without glare. Crafted from hand-blown, opalized glass with a matte interior finish, the lamp promotes diffuse light distribution. This makes the “ Louis Poulsen ” floor lamp a welcome addition to the living area, where it creates a cozy atmosphere when placed next to a sofa or armchair. Equipped with an E27 socket, the lamp can be fitted with a light bulb of your choice, allowing you to customize the light color, temperature, and brightness.Architecture and Light: Poul Henningsen
Poul Henningsen was born in Copenhagen, the son of the famous Danish actress Agnes Henningsen. He did not earn a degree in architecture, but studied at the Frederiksberg Technical School from 1911 to 1914 and then at the Technical College in Copenhagen from 1914 to 1917. He also began to apply traditional functionalist architecture. However, his professional interest soon focused primarily on lighting design—and that is what he is famous for.Exquisitely Designed Lighting— Louis Poulsen
