Glare-Free Pendant Light
The PH 3/4 is a light fixture designed by Poul Henningsen. Iconic and timeless, the fixture features a three-part aluminum shade. Based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, the pendant light emits a pleasant, glare-free, and diffused light that is directed primarily downward.Lighting Design from the 1920s
Poul Henningsen designed the three-part lampshade as early as 1925–26. The PH 4/3 pendant lamp model was introduced to the market in 1966. It was created according to the same principles as the other lamps with three-part shades, namely based on the logarithmic spiral, with the light source located at its center. To achieve a diffused light, the inner surfaces of the shade segments were painted white. Depending on the application and the desired light intensity and color temperature, the light can be fitted with an E27 socket and a light source of your choice.Architecture and Light: Poul Henningsen
Poul Henningsen was born in Copenhagen, the son of the famous Danish actress Agnes Henningsen. He did not earn a degree in architecture, but studied at the Frederiksberg Technical School from 1911 to 1914 and then at the Technical College in Copenhagen from 1914 to 1917. He also began to apply traditional functionalist architecture. However, his professional interest soon focused primarily on lighting design—and that is what he is famous for.Exquisitely Designed Lighting— Louis Poulsen
