Classic wooden chair from the 1960s

The Result chair was originally designed in 1958 by Friso Kramer and Wim Rietveld in the Netherlands. The matching Pyramid collection followed a year later. For this reissue, HAY is collaborating with Ahrend, the original manufacturer of the furniture.

Steel + Wood: A Chair with Industrial Charm

To do justice to the organic shape of the frame, sheet steel was bent—a process that was innovative at the time and hailed as a success. This method allowed for a combination of lightness and stability. In the reissue as well, the frame of this iconic piece of furniture is made of bent sheet steel. With a seat and backrest made of oak veneer, the chair has an inviting look despite its industrial flair. The chair is also available with an upholstered seat in fabric or leather in various colors.

School Chair for the Home

For many Dutch people, this chair holds a very special meaning. Thanks to its functional design, schools across the country were equipped with these Result chairs. “The ‘ Result ’ chair has character and can be used much more universally than just in classrooms,” explains Rolf HAY , founder of the design brand of the same name. It was developed for a variety of settings and is highly versatile.

It comes in different variations. Along with the Result chairs, the matching Pyramide collection—consisting of benches and tables—has also been reissued.
