Pendant Light with Adjustable Shade

The Multi-Lite pendant lamp was designed by Danish designer Louis Weisdorf in 197 2. The design is characterized by its unusual, whimsical shade and reflects Weisdorf’s passion for diversity. The base of the lamp consists of three basic shapes—two fixed cylinders and a hemisphere—surrounded by a narrow ring. What makes it special is that the hemisphere is divided into two parts, allowing the two halves to move freely and inviting you to play with shapes and light.

Unique Design

By rotating the shade halves, you can not only change the lamp’s appearance but also individually adjust the light output. If both halves are rotated downward, the light shines upward toward the ceiling, creating a cozy atmosphere. If the shade halves are positioned upward, they create classic downward-directed light that illuminates the dining table, for example. If the halves are moved in opposite directions, the light is diffused indirectly, and the shade takes on the appearance of a sculptural work of art.
