The duck is now slender: In 1952, Henning Koppel a serving pitcher (No. 1044) for the legendary Danish silversmith Georg Jensen , whose shape resembled a plump duck. Consequently, it became popular under the name “The Pregnant Duck” and was soon regarded as an absolute design classic. In 1965, Koppel was evidently inspired by the Henning Koppel —even though the duck has become significantly slimmer, making it appear even more majestic than its original model.
