Spherical LED pendant light with an extra-long cable

String Light is an LED light like no other. The extra-long cable and the innovative design of this pendant light with a spherical head by Flos enable architectural and innovative lighting solutions for both residential and commercial spaces. Designer Michael Anastassiades explains that he was inspired by three things for the Flos String Light : & “When I’m on a train and traveling, I always see these power lines connecting the utility poles out the window. And as we race along at high speed, I see these perfectly parallel lines and find myself captivated by this incredible precision—how is that possible? It’s just so wonderful how they connect the power poles while simultaneously dividing the landscape. I wanted to translate this vision into an interior setting. I love how people use light to define spaces, especially outdoors. Just think of a village square at night in the Mediterranean. The people there have strings of lights hanging in a square formation from four poles. It’s as if they’re announcing: “This is where the party’s happening.” It’s the lights that define this activity. And the final reason—which is the most practical—is how you have to rearrange lamps when the electrical outlets are always where you least want them to be. So how can you effortlessly and artistically place them exactly where you want them? & quot;

Flos String Light : Innovative and flexible

Equipped with a 12-meter-long cable, the Flos String Light pendant light allows you to create geometric patterns in the room. Spaces take on new architectural dimensions. If desired, the cables can be rearranged to create a new atmosphere in the room; patterns ranging from clear linearity to abstract art are possible. Last but not least, the innovative concept behind the Flos String Light is very practical: the light can be suspended independently of existing connections. If desired, the light’s appearance can be completely transformed, allowing it to be used in an entirely different way. The Flos String Light ball-head light is also impressive from a technical standpoint: The diffused light can be turned on and off and dimmed continuously via a touch sensor on the light head. The energy-efficient LED bulb emits warm white light at 2700 K, creating a pleasant ambiance.

Award-winning light fixture includes installation materials

Thanks to its extensive range of accessories, the combination possibilities for the String Light are virtually limitless. A wealth of examples and ideas for different installations are also included, along with blank sample rooms where you can sketch out your own personal configuration. The coaxial cable of the die-cast aluminum light fixture is reinforced with Kevlar. The geometric light fixture from Flos is also available as the “ String Light ” cone-head version with a cone-shaped light body. Upon request, both versions are also available with a 22-meter-long cable. Both the spherical and conical luminaires are available in several color options.
