In 1998, Jasper Morrison designed the Glo-Ball series for the Italian lighting manufacturer Flos . In addition to the Glo-Ball floor lamp shown here, the Glo-Ball table lamp, Glo-Ball Basic and Mini Glo-Ball table lamp, as well as the Glo-Ball pendant lamp. The striking, globe-shaped lamp bodies emit an atmospheric, diffused light.

Hand-blown glass, steel, and aluminum

The diffuser of the Glo-Ball floor lamp consists of hand-blown opal glass with an etched outer surface and a threaded cover ring made of die-cast aluminum alloy, electroplated with Alodine chrome. The base is made of solid steel, and the shaft is made of die-cast aluminum alloy—all elements are finished in matte silver paint or chrome plating. The on/off switch and dimming control (0–100%) are located on the power cord. The Glo-Ball floor lamp is also available in sizes F 2 (medium) and F 3 (large).
