Side Table 606 , designed by Aino Aalto, is an unusual piece, as the side table was originally intended to be a stool. Like her famous husband Alvar, Aino Aalto avoided superfluous details and favored soft, clean lines. Like the Chair 23, the Side Table 606 is part of the collection of black furniture presented by the Aaltos in London in 1933. Thanks to its simple color, shape, and stackability, the Side Table 606 fits into a wide variety of settings, both private and public. Originally, the 606 was used as a stool in the Paimio Sanatorium designed by Alvar Aalto, but it is also its simple, clean form that makes the Side Table 606 multifunctional.
