Aalto Glass Bowl by Iittala

"Aalto" means "wave." So it seems only natural that Aino Aalto , the wife of the famous architect and designer Alvar Aalto, would have drawn inspiration for her glass vessels from waves of all things. The glass series & “Aino & ” was created as early as 1932 and was originally named & “Bölgeblick &,” which describes the ripples left on the water’s surface by a pebble thrown into the water. The functional and timeless simplicity of the glasses still looks modern and contemporary today. The products in the “ Aino Aalto ” series are suitable for any occasion, whether a formal dinner party or a children’s birthday party. The “ Aino Aalto ” glass series was awarded the gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1936. The bowls offered here are made of clear glass, but they can also be supplied in smoked glass upon request.
