Marcello discovered his passion for crushing things at an early age. As a child, he crushed grapes, nuts, and pears with his feet. As the strongest man in the world, he crushes everything that gets in his way with his perfect muscles. Countless women therefore lie at his feet. But they should be careful, because Marcello doesn’t just crush nuts—he crushes hearts, too. The “ The Strongman ” nutcracker is part of the limited edition from the Circus Collection by Alessi . It was designed by Marcel Wanders and is a nutcracker shaped like a muscleman. The nut is placed on the circus platform and then crushed by the muscleman’s feet using a screw mechanism. His hands rest on the platform, and his face is contorted with effort, as two weights rest on his head, crushing the nut with a simple twist.

Strictly limited edition and handcrafted

Alessi ’s “ The Strongman ” nutcracker is a sculptural object for enthusiasts and collectors. It is available in a limited edition of 999 pieces and is numbered. It consists of a total of 18 stainless steel parts, which are assembled using three different manufacturing processes. The lost-wax casting process is used for complex design elements with fine details; CNC machining is used for mechanical details requiring high precision; and the flatbed laser cutter is used for complex geometric shapes. The colored parts of the nutcracker are painstakingly hand-painted, which is why minimal variations may occur. However, this is not a flaw; rather, it makes each individual nutcracker a truly one-of-a-kind piece. It is the perfect gift for special occasions and a special collector’s item that will last a lifetime.

To complement Marcel Wanders’ Circus Collection, a series of various circus figures in strictly limited editions was created. Only 999 pieces of each of the five circus characters—Candyman, Ringleader, Ballerina, Strongman, and The Jester—are available.
