Exclusive Leather Desk

With a surface made of full-grain leather—the Calamo is Zanotta ’s answer to the question of what makes a desk particularly exclusive and elegant. The “ Calamo ” desk was designed in 2013 by Gabriele Rosa. The form of the Zanotta Calamo desk is deliberately minimalist and clean-lined so as not to distract from its true distinctive feature: the dark full-grain leather surface. Core leather is a thick (min. 2.5 mm), vegetable-tanned, and only moderately greased cowhide that retains its natural, archaic character thanks to the material’s thickness and the treatment techniques used. Another characteristic of core leather is its high resistance to external influences. Working at the Zanotta Calamo desk is pleasant and comfortable thanks to the warm leather, which is very soft compared to other tabletops. The storage compartment with a tilt-open mechanism on the Zanotta Calamo is also made entirely of leather. Zanotta offers the steel base in various versions.
