Glass Coffee Table by Isamu Noguchi

Noguchi himself described the “ Coffee Table ” as his finest furniture design—likely because it strongly evokes his bronze and marble sculptures from that period and authentically translates their biomorphic design language into a sculptural piece of furniture: a heavy glass top rests on two identical wooden elements offset at right angles. The “ Coffee Table ” translates the biomorphic design language of sculptor and designer Isamu Noguchi’s sculptures into a sculptural coffee table. This is likely why Noguchi himself called the table his best furniture design. Two wooden legs positioned at right angles to each other—available in black ash, maple, and walnut—support the heavy, sturdy glass top.
