Plastic Armchair with a five-star base on casters

With its five-star base, PACC transforms the Plastic Armchair into an office swivel chair. The organically shaped seat shell of the Plastic Armchair has been combined with various bases since the 1950s and has been produced in the millions. Made of polypropylene, the armchairs now offer even greater seating comfort. Starting in 2024, all seat shells for the Eames Plastic Chairs by Vitra will be made from recycled post-consumer plastic collected through the German household waste program “Der Gelbe Sack.” Exception: the color white 04 will be available in the previous material until the end of 2024. The PACC Armchair is a variant of the Eames Plastic Chair, which was designed by Charles and Ray Eames as early as 1948 and was the first industrially manufactured chair. PACC (Pivot Armchair Cast Base on Casters) is the swivel office chair in the series. To avoid distracting from the formally expressive, organically shaped shell, Vitra opted for an innovative height adjustment mechanism for the PACC Armchair, which is discreetly mounted beneath the seat shell. To adjust the seat height, press the release slider under the seat toward the chair leg. You can press on either the left or right side. By shifting your weight onto or off the seat, you can adjust the chair’s height. When the seat height is set correctly, your thighs and lower legs form a 90° angle, and your feet rest flat on the floor. The Plastic Armchair PACC is also available in other colors. Additionally, the PACC can be ordered with a seat cushion.
