Classic Chair with Fiberglass Shell

The Eames Side Chair DSR (DiningHeight SideChair RodBase) is a true classic in home furnishings and has lost none of its charm since its launch in 1950. The organically shaped seat shell was manufactured from fiberglass-reinforced polyester resin, while the DSR’s base consists of delicate steel struts, giving it a lightweight appearance.

Back to the Original Design

In the early 1990s, production of the fiberglass seat shells was switched to polypropylene. Now, thanks to improved manufacturing processes, Vitra is returning to the original design and once again producing the seat shells with fiberglass reinforcement in the classic colors.
