The " Belleville Chair Plastic "—from the eponymous " Vitra " collection by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec—is inspired by classic French bistro furniture in Paris’s Belleville neighborhood. Sleeker, more refined, and crafted from new materials, the Belleville collection is a contemporary interpretation of classic French bistro design.

The Belleville Chair Plastic is a plastic chair

consisting of two components

—a frame structure and a seat shell. A black frame defines the chair’s legs and backrest and supports a thin shell that tapers from a wide seat to a narrow backrest. In contrast to the frame, the seat shell is available in various colors (cream, basalt, sea blue, and moss gray) or in a monochromatic deep black.

Stackable bistro chair

Inspired by French café culture, the Vitra Belleville Plastic Chair can be stacked up to 6 high. This makes the Vitra Chair ideal not only for private use but also for commercial settings, such as cafés, waiting rooms, or other interiors where the chair can be stored to save space when needed.

Belleville Chair for Indoor & & Outdoor Use

The chair’s two-component design opens up numerous design possibilities. While the frame is made of black plastic, the seat shell is available in several material and upholstery options. The plastic version of the chair, with a matching seat shell, is available in 5 different colors and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Paired with the matching Belleville outdoor table, the chair can therefore also be used as a modern garden chair.

The chair offers additional color and material options in Wood, Leather, or Fabric variants, each with a corresponding seat shell and chair frame made of deep black injection-molded polyamide. These versions are intended solely for indoor use, where they add exciting accents in living rooms as well as in gallery spaces or cafés.
