The Panto Pop chair—as the name suggests—brings Pop Art to life in a piece of seating furniture. Verner Panton designed this piece with a graphic and abstract aesthetic that also offers practical benefits. In 1969, Verner Panton created a series of one-piece plastic seating pieces for the famous Visiona 2 exhibition. Originally, the series comprised four differently shaped stools and armchairs. The piece, now produced by Verpan , Panto Pop is the only piece of seating furniture from that collection still in series production—a collection that perfectly captured the spirit of its time: the pieces were functional, playful, and, for furniture traditionalists, a bit provocative. The clean design remains relevant today, proving that good design transcends eras. In keeping with Verner Panton’s philosophy of versatility, the Panto Pop both an armchair and a lounger, indoor and outdoor furniture, a design object and a functional piece of furniture. The Panto Pop is stackable and features a drainage hole in its sturdy, UV-resistant polypropylene body, allowing it to look great in the garden, on the patio, or on the balcony.
