S 64 chair, in its cantilever version, is arguably one of the most famous chairs of the 20. century. Now, Thonet is launching this classic as a swivel chair, making it perfectly suited to today’s work environment. Swivel Chair with Five-Star Base for the Office

Thanks to its star-shaped central base with five casters, the S 64 VDR swivel chair can be used with complete flexibility in a home office, at work, or in conference rooms. At the same time, the armrests, the height-adjustable seat, and the wicker-weave backrest provide exceptional comfort. The design of this iconic chair was created in the late 1920s by Marcel Breuer, based on the design by Mart Stam, who is considered the creator of the S 64 and S 32 chairs. The S 64, which is now equipped with casters, was developed in collaboration with Swiss designer Christophe Marchand, who had previously designed tubular steel furniture for Thonet and based his design closely on the original. The wooden parts of the chair are made of stained beech, while the seat and backrest are made of wicker. Upon request, they are also available upholstered and covered in leather or fabric.
