Arguably the most famous tubular steel cantilever chair of all time now takes on a modern and fresh look with mesh upholstery on the seat and backrest in the S 64 N armchair version from Thonet . The original design, featuring a wicker seat, was created by Marcel Breuer and has been marketed by the German furniture manufacturer Thonet since the 1930s.

With a wooden frame and tubular steel base

The S 64 armchair features a frame made of chrome-plated tubular steel. What makes it special is that the chair does not rest on four legs but instead has a free-swinging frame made of cold-bent tubular steel. This makes the chair not only aesthetically pleasing but also very comfortable to sit in, thanks to the slight swaying motion.
