Thonet ’s S 533 is a

cantilever armchair

The S 533 L cantilever chair without armrests consists of a chrome-plated tubular steel frame and seat and backrest surfaces made of full-grain leather in various colors, with lacing on the backrest. Additional versions with wicker and UV-resistant mesh fabric for indoor and outdoor use in various colors are also available. The chair owes its high level of comfort to its elastic suspension, which is made possible by Mies van der Rohe’s cantilevered design.
