The First Cantilever Chair in History

Thonet ’s “ S 33 ” cantilever chair is the first cantilever chair in the history of furniture. It was first presented and used by Mart Stam in 1927 at the Weissenhof Estate in Stuttgart. With its innovative concept—a chair no longer resting on four legs—the S 33 cantilever chair is a part of design history and a classic design that has lost none of its charm to this day.
