Another source of inspiration for Sebastian Herkner was the \u0026quot;Frankfurt Chair\u0026quot;, developed in the 1930s and long used as a universal chair. Herkner likes to call his new design for Thonet the \u0026quot;Offenbach chair\u0026quot; in reference to his home town.\n\u003ch3\u003e Curved seat frame and Viennese wickerwork \u003c\/h3\u003e\nThe timeless 118 chair refers to the 214 bentwood chair in the shape of its curved seat frame. The hand-finished seat is also covered with the iconic Viennese wickerwork (cane weave).\nThe legs add new elements to the chair. Rounded at the back, slight edges at the front of the legs provide a certain break that makes the chair a special feature. Refined details give the 118 chair a less dominant appearance and make it more elegant at the same time. This makes it versatile and allows it to be integrated into a wide variety of room situations - both in the home and in public areas.\nThe 118 is available in natural beech, as well as in lacquered and stained versions.
