Wagenfeld Bauhaus-era lamp
The Wagenfeld lamp is one of the most famous lamps of the Bauhaus era. It was designed in 1924 by Wilhelm Wagenfeld (1900–1990) in 1924. After completing an apprenticeship at a silverware factory and attending a drawing academy, he was accepted as a journeyman into the world-famous Bauhaus workshop, where he created the design classic W24, the “ Wagenfeld lamp,” or also known as & “Bauhaus lamp & .” With his designs in metal and glass, he Wagenfeld he became one of the most important industrial designers of his time.With a glass dome and glass base
The WG 24 Wagenfeld lamp consists of an opal-colored glass dome; the base and column are made of clear glass, and the trim is made of nickel-plated metal. The metal hemispheres beneath the base plate give the lamp its “lightness & .” The lamp is manufactured by Tecnolumen according to the original dimensions and materials. All lamps are sequentially numbered beneath the base plate and bear the Bauhaus and “ Tecnolumen ” marks. The lamp is shipped without a light bulb. The Wagenfeld lamp was awarded the federal “Gute Form” prize in 1982 and was named one of the “Best 200 for the Year 2000.”
