Arne Jacobsen’s classic wall clocks are back! Arne Jacobsen is arguably Denmark’s most famous architect and designer. His legendary furniture designs made him famous far beyond Denmark’s borders. Rosendahl has acquired the rights to reproduce Arne Jacobsen’s most famous wall clocks and has now reissued them in 100% accordance with the original designs and in meticulous collaboration with Teit Weylandt. Teit Weylandt worked for many years in product development at Arne Jacobsen’s design studio and paid close attention to every detail during the re-production of the clocks: & “No stone was left unturned: the hands, the case, the shape of the glass—we went through everything… & ”

AJ Bankers Wall Clock

Arne Jacobsen’s Bankers clock was originally designed for the Danish National Bank building in 1971. The most recent of the three designs features an abstract dial in which, instead of numbers, a bar—divided into twelve sectors—indicates the hour, with the dot shifting one sector per hour. Overall, the dial thus forms a spiral pattern from one to twelve o’clock. All AJ clocks from Rosendahl uniquely embody an interesting cross-section of modernism in Arne Jacobsen’s design work spanning a period of 30 years. The watch cases are made of aluminum and mineral glass. The movement is manufactured in Japan and is powered by an AA battery ( 1. 5 V).
