Glass with a Grape Variety-Specific Design

The Grand Cru glass for Bordeaux from the “ Riedel ” Sommeliers Series is crafted from the finest crystal glass and features a delicate rim as well as a grape variety-specific design that optimally releases and highlights the aroma of Bordeaux wines. The glass is suitable for Bordeaux as well as other wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Moulis, Pauillac, Pessac-Léognan (red), and St. Julien. In addition to the Grand Cru glass for Bordeaux, a glass with a grape variety-specific design for mature Bordeaux is also available.

40 Years of the Sommeliers Wine Glass Series

The Sommeliers series was designed in the 1970s by Claus Riedel in collaboration with the Italian Sommelier Association A.I.S. (Associazione Italiana Sommeliers). The series, comprising 10 different wine glasses, remains the benchmark for wine glasses of all kinds and is the world’s most successful handcrafted glass series. Each glass is meticulously handcrafted from crystal and is one-of-a-kind. The bowls are blown into shape, while the stems and bases are hand-formed using production methods developed in antiquity and already in use in the Mediterranean region 2,000 years ago.
