“ Tidelight ” is reminiscent of classic car headlights for good reason: the appealing, round shape and the ribbed glass are what they have in common. The purpose of the ribbed glass is the same in cars and in the “ Petite Friture ” Tidelight : to create a pleasant diffusion of light. The Tidelight casts a diffused light that creates a pleasantly warm ambiance. The diffuser, shaped like an oversized light bulb, however, appears surprising and novel despite its familiar appearance, as its use as a table lamp is a new concept. Petite Friture Tidelight is crafted from hand-blown glass and cork, which reinforces its nostalgic feel. A transparent cable ensures that all attention remains focused on the “ Tidelight ,” designed by Pierre Favresse.
