Coat Rack with Shelf

For Normann Copenhagen , designer Simon Legald has created a coat rack that incorporates influences from industrial design into its clean lines. Functionality takes center stage, and the simple construction—consisting of a frame and a shelf—provides plenty of space for clothes, shoes, and bags. The idea behind TOJ: moving the coat closet outside. Simon Legald has stripped the minimalist design down to its bare essentials. What remains is a frame, a clothes rod, and a shelf. Screws and bolts are clearly visible. The perforated pattern of the shelf casts a lively play of shadows on the floor. Simon Legald explains: “I wanted to design a coat rack that’s presentable—in other words, more of a piece of furniture than just a rod for hanging clothes. TOJ adapts very well to many different environments because its design language is clear and minimalist. TOJ gets its character from its user.” TOJ is available in two different sizes with shelves in white or gray.
