Industrial Sideboard with Sliding Doors

For the “ Enfold Sideboard ” from Muuto , designer Thomas Bentzen combines clean-lined, Scandinavian design with industrial elements. During his many factory visits as a designer, Bentzen was inspired by the sturdy buildings and industrial objects he encountered. He then sought to incorporate these impressions into a furniture design, which led to the creation of the “ Enfold Sideboard .”

Crafted from steel and oak

The piece stands out for its skillful mix of materials, modern appearance, and functional components. A distinctive feature is the sliding doors, which were stamped from steel and then bent to create a ribbed surface texture. Like the doors, the body is also made of powder-coated steel, which gives the sideboard an industrial touch. In contrast to the masculine steel, warm oak wood brings a natural touch to the design.

TV stand, dresser, or shoe cabinet

No screws or connectors are visible on the piece, ensuring a clean, uniform finish. Slender legs also allow the sideboard to float just above the floor, creating an airy, lightweight design that fits seamlessly into any setting. The “ Enfold Sideboard ” is available in both a tall and a short version. The short sideboard features a single shelf, while the tall sideboard has two shelves that can be positioned at the desired height. Whether as a hi-fi cabinet in the living room, a dresser in the bedroom, or a shoe cabinet in the entryway—the “ Enfold Sideboard ” from Muuto blends seamlessly into any setting and captivates with its blend of Scandinavian and industrial charm.
