LED Pendant Light Made of Fiberglass Strands

The NR2 Medium LED pendant light was designed by Bertjan Pot for the manufacturer Moooi . The pendant light’s design captivates with its contrast between fragile elegance and an imposing appearance. The Dutch designer is constantly on the lookout for new material combinations. This approach results in products characterized by extraordinary forms and an extravagant selection of materials. Following the example of the popular “Random Light” pendant light, Bertjan Pot continues his experiments with fiberglass. The semi-transparent shade of the LED pendant light is made of fiberglass strands that have been soaked in epoxy resin and wrapped around a large balloon. Arranged symmetrically in a row, the fiberglass strands form a delicate mesh so fine that the warm white light is diffused throughout the room as if from a solid, enclosed body.
