Thomas Heatherwick designed the rotating “ Spun ” chair for Magis . The base of “ Spun ” is a small circle that widens upward into a seat shell. A second ring between the spinning top and the seat prevents the chair from tipping over. Once seated, “ Spun ” becomes a rocking adventure: it spins, sways back and forth at will, or remains a quiet chair for relaxation. Delicate lines on the exterior enhance the dynamic spinning-top look. Magis Spun manufactures it from polyethylene. Thanks to the durable plastic, the Kreissessel is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. A rubber coating on the bottom of the chair also protects the floor.
