Organically shaped plastic armchair

Raviolo is a low armchair designed by Ron Arad and Magis . As with Voido, the Raviolo the goal was to create a rotomolded plastic product that would impress with its unusual shape and meet the highest standards. Ron Arad and Magis opted Raviolo opt for a shape based on a coiled plastic strip. Ron Arad had been carrying the idea for this design around with him for a long time, and now it proved to be perfectly suited for the rotational molding process. The finished Raviolo armchair incorporates the characteristics of the manufacturing process into its design, and its outer, coiled texture still hints at the rotational molding process. The seat and backrest of the Raviolo , on the other hand, are smooth. The visual and tactile contrast, along with the chair’s twisted form, create a puffed-up appearance that reminded Ron Arad of stuffed pasta. That is why he named the chair Raviolo .
