Stackable Plastic Chair

Stefano Giovannoni has made a name for himself by combining playful, humorous designs with innovative functionality. The First Chair, created in 2007 and designed by Giovannoni for Magis , proves that he still has what it takes. The First Chair is stackable, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, and its form appears fluid and relaxed. The First Chair is also manufactured as a single piece: it is produced in one piece from glass-fiber-reinforced polypropylene using a gas injection molding process. Not least for its successful, material-appropriate craftsmanship, the chair won the 2009 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany in silver. In its statement, the jury put it as follows:
“Particularly successful are the clear yet soft lines from which the varying volumes of the round chair legs and the ergonomically shaped, slender seat and backrest shells emerge. The proportions, radii, and angled positioning of the legs create a harmonious yet powerful impression.” Chair First is also available in other colors and in an exclusive leather version (for indoor use)!
