Inspired by the multifaceted beauty of nature, designer Øivind Slaatto created the Patera this light for Louis Poulsen . A spherical, handcrafted pendant light that creates a unique lighting atmosphere with its many openings.

“ Patera was created out of my fascination with the Fibonacci sequence. The spiral pattern can be found everywhere in nature—for example, in seed structures like sunflowers and pinecones—and has inspired some of history’s greatest artists, such as Leonardo da Vinci and Johann Sebastian Bach.” _{Øivind Slaatto}

A New Kind of Chandelier

The elegant Patera light fixture is conceived as a new type of chandelier. According to designer Slaatto, the “ Louis Poulsen ” light fixture is intended to “unify the space and make the experience of being in it more human.” The spherical Patera pedestal lamp is a striking focal point in any setting. It floats majestically in the room, where its distinctive silhouette distributes light evenly. The lamp’s unique design is key to this light distribution. The lamp’s various openings and angles ensure a glare-free, soft light.

The Patera pendant light is handcrafted from white plastic. With a diameter of Ø 60 cm, the light is a striking focal point that provides pleasant lighting accents in entryways, public spaces, or living areas. Equipped with an E27/E26 socket, the Patera lamp can be fitted with various light sources. Additionally, the Patera also available upon request with an integrated LED solution.

Øivind Slaatto (born 1978) is one of Denmark’s most promising designers, recognized for his simple and poetic solutions. For Øivind, nature is the most important source of inspiration. Drawing from this, he seeks to incorporate qualities such as rationality, logic, and, not least, harmony into his designs.
