Kaare Klint’s famous Model 101—also known as the Lantern—was used as early as 1942 to adorn what is now the Danish Museum of Art and Design in Copenhagen. The Lantern is often described as one of Le Klint ’s most fascinating designs and is still considered one of the most popular pieces in the collection today.

Traditional Craftsmanship and Cutting-Edge Technology

It is the combination of craftsmanship, cutting-edge technology, and design that gives Model 101 its special appeal. Reminiscent of traditional Chinese lanterns, the plastic lamp resembles a globe folded from paper, exuding an elegant yet cozy charm with its characteristic folds. The lantern has also become a popular prop on the silver screen on several occasions. Perhaps its most famous appearance was in the 1960 film * & ’Let & ’s Make Love & ’*, in which the lamp can be seen behind Marilyn Monroe in a bedroom scene as she sings the title song.

of the iconic Model 101 was created as a tribute to Kaare Klint. Featuring an XL version and subtle, sleek steel details, the original form is preserved but further enhanced by modern refinements. Model 101 is available in three different sizes.
