Coffee Table with a U-Shaped Frame

The Laccio coffee table was designed by Marcel Breuer as early as 1925. The table, with its distinctive U-shaped frame, is also known as the Bauhaus table and features a design that is both modern and timeless. Originally, the Laccio coffee table was used as a stool until it was eventually repurposed as a table. The table’s frame is made of tubular steel—a material Breuer experimented with for years before using it, among other projects, for the Laccio coffee table. Breuer was fascinated by the idea of shaping forms from endless lengths of steel tubing and went on to design a range of different steel-tube furniture pieces. With his designs, Breuer sought to “create apparatus for modern life” and placed particular emphasis on ensuring that his products were also disassemblable and hygienic. The Laccio coffee table meets these requirements and has also been a high-quality design classic for many years. The tabletop of the Laccio coffee table is made of plastic laminate and is available in white, red, or black. The frame, crafted from round steel tubing, is seamlessly formed and finished with a high-gloss chrome plating. The square Laccio model can also be combined with a larger, rectangular version of the Laccio coffee table.
