Crystal-Look Lighting Series

Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka has poured all his expertise in plastics processing into his first lighting series, “ Planet ,” for the Italian manufacturer Kartell . The result is a series of magnificently mysterious “ Planet ” LED table, pendant, and floor lamps with a crystal-glass look, whose surface texture causes the light to refract differently from every angle.

Enchanting Sparkle

Instead of crystal glass, the “ Planet ” LED lights are made of polycarbonate of varying thicknesses. These intricate lights play with the physical lens effect and create an enchanting sparkle that wouldn’t even be possible with crystal glass. The “ Planet ” LED pendant light by Tokujin Yoshioka for Kartell is available in clear, yellow, and gray polycarbonate and looks particularly striking above dining tables or suspended freely in the room.
