Modern Plastic Café Chair

The Generic chair series by Philippe Starck for Kartell is an experiment and an ambitious project by the designer to identify and optimize generic ideal types of chairs for a wide variety of settings. The Generic C is the ideal chair for a café. It is the modern version of the classic Viennese café chair and, with its curved backrest and subtly hinted-at armrests that don’t take up any space on the sides, has an inviting and fresh look.

Stackable and sturdy chair

The chair is made of polypropylene in various colors. This makes it lightweight, portable, and extremely versatile, as it can not only match the room’s color scheme but also be placed wherever it’s needed. When the Generic C isn’t in use or space needs to be cleared, the lightweight chair can simply be stacked. Up to five chairs can be stacked, making them extremely space-efficient to store. In addition to public spaces such as cafés, bars, and restaurants, the Generic C chair also works well in private homes, whether in the dining room or kitchen.
