Sustainable Production

Re-Chair stands for RE, as in “recycled,” and CHAIR as a symbolic object of “ Kartell ,” representing the perfect link between the past and the future. Designed by Antonio Citterio, the Re-Chair is made from pure, recycled thermoplastic technopolymer derived from plastic waste from various industrial sectors.

Italian Fusion Talent

The Re-Chair, powered by Illy, is a revolutionary Italian collaboration between the manufacturer Kartell and illycaffè. The goal of both companies is to contribute to a significant advance in sustainability. Against this backdrop, the Re-Chair by Illy is manufactured using an extremely innovative production process: for the first time, it is possible to produce design products from discarded coffee capsules. Antonio Citterio is also responsible for the design of this collaboration. The chair is made from Illy’s recycled Iperespresso capsules. “The collaboration with illycaffè cannot be reduced to simply providing recycled material
