Large pendant light with a diameter of 83 cm

The Big FL/Y pendant light from Kartell was designed by Ferruccio Laviani and is characterized by its harmonious shape. The light is made of PMMA and is available in solid-colored or transparent versions. At the same time, the pendant light is available in many different colors—to suit every taste. The transparent models, in particular, are reminiscent of soap bubbles shimmering in the sunlight.

Form and Light

The shade—or calotte—of the FLY pendant light is not a perfect hemisphere: The height of the cross-section is slightly less than the diameter, which concentrates the emitted light. This makes the light particularly suitable for focused lighting over a dining or kitchen table or in other areas where concentrated light is desired.
