Bulb was one of his first lamps in 1966 and was initially produced in a small series. Ingo Maurer had only recently returned from the U.S. and was now running a one-man operation with occasional helpers in basement rooms.\r\nThe unusual design reduced the “ Bulb ” lamp to its light source. This marked a departure from traditional lamp design featuring a shade, frame, and base.
