Back then, the milk jug was Kaj Franck’s response to the changing needs of people in the 1950s. The pitcher with its cork stopper was ideal for transporting milk home from the dairy. At a time when refrigerators were still a rarity, the small pitcher also fit perfectly into the space between double-pane windows, where the milk was kept cool. Simple elegance and versatility are the qualities that made Kaj Franck’s “ Teema ” one of the most sought-after tableware sets in Scandinavia—qualities that also define this small milk jug with a cork stopper. Kaj Franck deliberately avoided any ornamentation or embellishment in his design, limiting himself to the essentials.
