Electric Light

“ Lantern ” is an electric version of the light object designed by Harri Koskinen. This greatly expands the range of applications for “ Lantern ”: The light object can be placed in a wide variety of settings, such as between shelves or in public areas. & “A candle creates a relaxed atmosphere and is associated with a ritual: a few hours after the candle is lit, darkness returns. Electricity offers greater functionality, as the ‘ Lantern ’ emits more light and has no time limit &,” says Harri Koskinen. The shape of the Lantern lamp remains iconic and statuesque, just like its classic predecessor. That’s also why the design looks equally good with candles and electric light. Even when the Lantern lamp isn’t currently serving its (illumination) purpose, its sculptural form makes it a decorative design object.
