Table with steel top and “ Terrazzo ” base

The round “ Terrazzo ” table by HAY is a versatile table for both indoor and outdoor use. The table was designed specifically for environments that require high quality and durability—such as cafés, restaurants, gardens, patios, or balconies. Designer Daniel Enoksson has therefore selected only specific materials that withstand outdoor conditions exceptionally well. While the round tabletop is made of durable, powder-coated steel, the base is crafted from solid Terrazzo . Despite its robust nature, the has a colorful and somewhat playful appearance, creating a deliberate stylistic contrast between the tabletop and the base. Although Terrazzo has similar properties to concrete, the former has a much more striking surface that doesn’t go unnoticed. Designer Daniel Enoksson himself says of the material: & quot;I first discovered Terrazzo years ago as paving at most of Stockholm’s subway stations. Ever since then, I’ve thought it was a shame that the material wasn’t being used for more practical purposes, because it’s a fantastic material for outdoor use and also has a beautiful, vibrant aesthetic. & quot; The table is available in gray/light gray and red.
