The J110 is part of HAY ’s reissue of Danish furniture classics. Designed by Poul M. Volther in the middle of the last century, this chair embodies Danish design in its purest form: Crafted from wood, it offers J110 Chair aesthetic design combined with outstanding functionality. Simple, nature-inspired forms add a touch of Scandinavian elegance to any living space.

Windsor Style

Originally, the J110 Chair was designed with the idea of democratizing good, functional design: Drawing inspiration from the typical Windsor chairs of the 1 8. century, the J110 reinterprets the slender wooden slats and high backrest in a timeless design. The slenderness of the slats and the texture of the material make this dining chair from HAY appear both sturdy and light. For these reasons, the J110—produced at the time by FDB—quickly became a success.

Made of beech wood

HAY manufactures the J110 Chair from beech wood. With a seat height of 44.5 cm, the J110 from HAY is perfect for the dining table, while its high backrest gives it the feel of an armchair: The wide seat and high backrest give the J110 a level of comfort that is unusually high for dining chairs. The chairs in the J Series are intended exclusively for private use. Use in public spaces is not recommended.
