Scandinavian desk with an oak base

The Danish manufacturer HAY invited the designer brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec to create a collection for the redesigned University of Copenhagen (KUA). The result is the Copenhague series, which consists of a chair, a bar stool, and various tables. The Copenhague CPH 90 desk is inspired by classic school furniture, but without its formality. HAY The Bouroullecs sought to design furniture for an educational institution that, through its form and identity, clearly belongs to our time and meets the needs of a university. That is why the Copenhague desk is highly functional without becoming too serious in its expression. After all, it was also important to the two designers to use their Copenhague CPH 90 desk to break free from the institutional and bureaucratic aesthetic of traditional furniture in educational institutions and to design pieces with greater originality and a more home-like feel. HAY manufactures the Copenhague desk from oak; other variants are available upon request.
